8U Game

Home Team - Score:  Braves – 11

Away Team - Score:   Fireflies – 16

 

Game Summary:  The Fireflies’ bats exploded in the first two innings, and turned out to be too much for the Braves to overcome.  In the first inning, the Fireflies started with 10 consecutive hits before the first out, putting up 9 runs.  The Braves answered back with a leadoff homerun by Eli Vahjen, followed by a 2nd run in the inning.  In the 2nd inning, the Fireflies started as hot as the 1st, scoring 6 runs in the 2nd inning, bringing the score to 15-2.  However, the Braves showed great heart and determination, as they put up 5 runs in the 3rd inning to bring the score to 15-7.  The Braves managed to put up 4 more runs in the last inning, but it was not quite enough as the Fireflies held on for a 16-11 win.  Both teams showed great determination, and both ended great seasons.

10U Game

Home Team - Score:  River Bandits – 10

Away Team - Score:   Flying Squirrels – 0

 

Game Summary:  Daniel Weyer threw a gem on Monday for the River Bandits, allowing zero runs and besting the Flying Squirrels by a score of 10-0.  The River Bandits secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the first inning.  Bryce Moore toed the rubber for the Flying Squirrels. He lasted one inning, allowing six hits and ten runs while striking out one. Jameson Pate threw two innings out of the bullpen.

12U Game #1

Home Team - Score:  Senators – 10

Away Team - Score:  Thunder –11

 

Game Summary:  The Thunder jumped out early for an 8-1 lead after 2 innings with some timely hitting and outstanding defense.  The Thunder built an 11-2 lead going to the last inning when the Senators exploded for 8 runs as they sent 13 batters to the plate.  The Thunder, however, brought in Will Howard to record the final out with a strikeout to get the save, and Tyler Jenkins the win on the mound.  Thanks to everyone that came out to support both teams.

12U Game #2

Home Team - Score:  Cubs – 1

Away Team - Score:   Iron Birds – 9

 

Game Summary:  The Iron Birds scored 2 in the first, 4 in the second, and 3 in the fifth to seal the game. Alan Michael struck out 9 in 4 1/3 innings. With the win, the Iron Birds clinched 1st place for the regular season.
