Coronavirus Update from Greenwood Abbeville Little League

Parents,

We pray that everyone is continuing to stay safe and taking the proper and necessary precautions during this unprecedented time in our society. In light of some recent statewide announcements and decisions, we wanted to provide a short update as to the 2020 Greenwood Abbeville Little League season.

In short, we are continuing to prepare for a season this year. We feel confident that we will be able to have a season and when we do resume playing baseball, we will insure that your child stays safe while we do so. It will definitely look and feel a little different but we still feel that this will be an important part of a return to “normal” for your child, your family, and this community.

As stated in a previous letter, when making an Opening Day decision, we will consult all state and local governmental and health officials as well as our Little League District administrator. All of the leagues in our district are planning to play this summer as well, and we want to be able to provide the same opportunity for the youth in our community. We thank you in advance for being flexible during this time, and we look forward to hearing the words, “Play Ball!” on our fields.
