***Tee Ball players will NOT participate in evaluations***

GALL player evaluations are an annual activity that is part of the team selection process.  Players are strongly encouraged to attend.  Players that are unable to attend evaluations will not be eligible to be selected by team managers in the draft, and will be assigned to a team through a separate process within the draft.

All managers, nominated by the League President and approved by the league’s Board of Directors for the current season, must attend evaluations so they can assess/grade players for their own reference.

Evaluations will take place on Saturday, February 2^nd, 2019 at the YMCA baseball fields.  Each division will have evaluations at a separate time that day, and the specific will be directly communicated to those that register.  There will be a make-up evaluation the day before on Friday, February 1^st, 2019.  The makeup date is only for those that cannot attend Saturday, and you must get approval to attend prior to that date.

During evaluations, players will be given the opportunity to perform (1) Batting/Bunting, (2) Fielding Fly Balls, (3), Fielding Ground Balls, (4) Throwing, and (5) Running with children in the same age division.

In addition to managers, the GALL Board of Directors will enlist a group of volunteers to evaluate the players.  These evaluations will be used for parts of the draft, as well as be provided to managers as a tool during the draft.  Player evaluations will not be shared with anyone outside of the GALL Board of Directors and managers during the draft.  Managers will not be able to keep a copy of the evaluations after the draft.

The duration of evaluations generally depends on the number of players attending, but we will do our best to keep the process efficient and as quick as possible.  Once evaluations are complete, teams will be selected a few days later, and teams will be announced the following week.  We will have articles coming up soon that will explain these processes as well.
